The John R. Oishei Foundation is the area's largest private foundation. In the area of community health, the Foundation is committed to curtailing the rise of chronic health conditions by supporting programs to improve the health of people in WNY, as well as improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery of health services.

Community Outreach & Program Planning 5/07-4/10 $335,000 To support the RWJF funded initiative entitled Aligning Forces for Quality: The Regional Market Project. This 55% match to the RWJF grant was applied to enhance the community/consumer engagement component of AF4Q. Consumers will be engaged through implementation of evidence-based methods and strategies in a comprehensive, unique and innovative manner.
Consumer Engagement Associate/Practice Enhancement Associate Pilot 01/09-12/11 $275,000 (dependent on matching funds) To support the second RWJF funded initiative entitled Aligning Forces for Quality: The Regional Market Project. This grant enables the continued focus on consumer engagement.
