An Active Buffalo/Niagara Region
The May Edition of Meetings Today highlights Buffalo's Canalside and the variety of wellness activities offered as ways to stay active after a conference or meeting. Kayaking, Buffalo Pedal Tours, bike rentals through Reddy Bikeshare, and yoga classes are among some of the activities mentioned.
Independent Health and the YMCA Buffalo Niagara also posted their Fitness in the Parks Summer schedule. Fitness in the Parks is a series of free outdoor fitness classes designed to encourage physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
Want to Become a Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite
Have you thought of offering support to mothers who work for you or come to your organization for community events? The Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) is looking for community sites (i.e. worksites, community centers) that would like to become Breastfeeding Friendly Sites! If you serve mothers ECDOH has support to help you best meet their needs! They can help you learn the benefits of setting up a lactation room for your business/organization.

Summer at Grider
Summer is right around the corner, which means Farmer's Market season has begun! Farmers’ markets provide a way for the community to buy fresh and affordable fruits and vegetables while supporting local farmers. They emphasize nutrition and support healthier meals and eating habits.
Fresh produce, food trucks, live music, local vendors, face painting, and animal balloon art... what more can you ask for? Now in their 9th season, the Farmers’ Market at Grider has it all! Each week you can find a new set of vendors, while seeing some familiar faces. The African Heritage Food Co-Op, Algonquin Sports for Kids, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Morrison Healthcare, New Starts Farm, and Urban Fruits and Veggies are some of the regular vendors you can expect to find this year. Interested in other vendors? Selling jewelry, home accessories, and bath and body products, Janie's Emporium will be sure to make an appearance.
The Farmers' Market at Grider is open every Friday from 10 AM - 2 PM through September 29th. Beginning July 7th EBT/SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks will be accepted, along with free summer lunches for kids 18 and under.
Take a lunch break at this farmers’ market, get some steps in and buy your produce. Too far? Click below for a market near you!
