Along with seven other organizations in Western New York, we were selected to join the GetSET (Success in Extraordinary Times) capacity-building program sponsored by the Health Foundation for Western & Central New York, John R. Oishei Foundation, Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation, and the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation. Our participation is sponsored by the Health Foundation for Western & Central New York. Now in its 3rd cohort, GetSET is a 2-year team-based process that pairs organizational development consultants with participating agencies. The goals are to strengthen the organization's internal operations. Sponsorship in GetSET is $75,000 with $35,000 allotted for the Organizational Development consultant services and $15,000 for participating organizations to use once a need is identified down the road.
There are eight categories that the GetSET team asseses: Mission/Vision, Board Governance, Environmental Dynamics, Leadership, Organizational Infrastructure, Communications/Branding, Data Driven Decision Making, and Finance. The first step will be to complete an organizational assessment in those eight areas and then develop strategies to close the gaps. The second step is creating an organization value proposition statements.
