Summer is right around the corner, which means Farmers' Market season has begun! Farmers’ markets provide a way for the community to buy fresh and affordable fruits and vegetables while supporting local farmers. They emphasize nutrition and support healthier meals and eating habits. This month we are highlighting one of our SOPHi Awards & Expo vendors, Farmers' Market at Grider.
Fresh produce, food trucks, live music, local vendors, face painting, and animal balloon art... what more can you ask for? Now in their 9th season, the Farmers’ Market at Grider has it all! Each week you can find a new set of vendors, while seeing some familiar faces. The African Heritage Food Co-Op, Algonquin Sports for Kids, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Morrison Healthcare, New Starts Farm, and Urban Fruits and Veggies are some of the regular vendors you can expect to find this year. Interested in other vendors? Selling jewelry, home accessories, and bath and body products, Janie's Emporium will be sure to make an appearance.
The Farmers' Market at Grider is open every Friday from 10 AM - 2 PM through September 29th. Beginning July 7th EBT/SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks will be accepted along with free summer lunches will be offered for kids 18 and under.
