"Together with exercise and social/emotional work, self-care is the new health care" -Tosca Reno
Thanks to everyone who attended our 2nd Annual SOPHi awards! ZDoggMD rocked Buffalo RiverWorks!
We had over 350 attendees who enjoyed our rapping keynote speaker, Dr. Zubin Damania, aka ZDoggMD, and awards ceremony. Dr. Damania talked about the changing landscape of healthcare as we move away from the past. In “Health 1.0” physicians had relationships with their patients, but failed to track quality or value. Currently with “Health 2.0,” the focus is on measures that do not lead to quality, and the physician/patient relationship is hindered by excessive reporting and measuring.
Dr. Damania argues that we need to move towards “Health 3.0 which transcends and includes 1.0 and 2.0." Health 3.0 brings deep human relationships from Health 1.0 back into care, but allows for human interaction where doctors and patients are partners and utilize the technology that has come with Health 2.0. This new model really focuses on population health and looking at the person as a whole.
