On Friday, March 14, Dr. Thomas Workman presented at P² Collaborative's first quarterly meeting of the year on Shared Decision-Making between doctor and patient.
Dr. Thomas Workman is the principal communication researcher and evaluator within the American Institute for Research’s Health Program. He leads AIR’s Center for Patient and Consumer Engagement, and has worked on a variety of projects related to involving patients and consumers in health care research, service, and policy decisions.
Dr. Workman has extensive experience in translating evidence for shared decision-making between patients and clinicians. His work in shared decision-making includes developing an online primer for patients on making decisions with their doctors and work on two decision support tools for patients – one on localized prostate cancer treatment and one for women with low bone density.
